Nick Gibson
Headteacher
Executive Headteacher (NPQEL, BA (Hons), PGCE, MCCT, FRSA)
Mr Gibson is the proud Executive Headteacher at Wolverley Church of England Secondary School and has 13 years’ experience in headship. He studied Industrial Design and Technology at Loughborough University before completing his PGCE and later undertaking a postgraduate qualification in Educational Leadership at the University of Leicester. He is passionate about developing educational leaders and is a lead facilitator, training future headteachers on the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) programme.
He started his teaching career in London in 1998 and has since worked across a range of schools in both the independent and state sectors, gaining valuable leadership experience and teaching in a variety of contexts. Before joining WCESS, Mr Gibson was Headteacher at North Bromsgrove High School, where he continues to provide strategic leadership. He worked closely with staff and students to bring the school out of special measures in record time. Prior to this, he was Headteacher of an Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ school and later, as CEO, established a Multi-Academy Trust comprising five schools across the primary and secondary phases.
Mr Gibson is committed to working with staff and students to ensure that Wolverley delivers on its motto, ‘Ambition Unlimited’, and is passionate about providing an inclusive education. Through high-quality adaptive teaching, exceptional pastoral care and a rich programme of enrichment opportunities, he believes every student should have the chance to flourish.
Mr Gibson enjoys swimming and mountain biking to keep fit, as well as spending time on long walks with his family.
