Each year, we offer a wide range of opportunities for students from our primary schools to experience the Wolverley way. These are for years 3, 4, 5 and 6 but there are also a number of schools who visit our animal centre which is based on the school site. The activities we provide are from a variety of subjects, enabling all to experience the fantastic facilities, opportunities and high quality teaching at Wolverley.
Wolverley believes every student deserves the best possible start to Y7 and has an excellent, extensive transition package to welcome and settle our new students ahead of September. We also recognise that all students are unique and that some will find the transition to secondary school more difficult. For these students, we provide further opportunities to visit the school, meet the staff and help them to find their way around.
As part of our Primary Transition Programme, at the end of their first week, our new Year 7 students spend the night camping and enjoying activities to help them settle into their new learning environment. Parents, students and staff are invited to spend time together pitching tents before students take part in exciting activities that include tubing, dodgeball, ultimate Frisby and a campfire.

What our students have to say...
Mia is a Year 13 student at Wolverley currently studying in our Sixth Form. Mia has embraced the 7 year journey here at Wolverley and has thrived. Read about Mia’s experience below.
"My name is Mia. I am currently in my final year of A levels studying history, Spanish and Psychology at Wolverley Sixth form and I have always felt that I have been well supported by my teachers and head of college. and being able to communicate with my teachers has allowed me to feel reassured along my academic journey.
Across the school, there are a wide range of enrichment opportunities that engage in over the years, from music to PE, mathematical challenges and prestigious awards such as the Duke of Edinburgh. There are always activities to take part in school as well as plenty of trips visiting places such as Barcelona, Austria, Italy, Berlin and many more (including some a little closer to home)!
When studying at school, there will be challenges but Wolverley staff have always been there to support me. Staff are always happy to provide extra academic resources to ensure you as a student can maximise your academic potential.
After spending 7 years at Wolverley, the teachers here have allowed me to reach my full potential; despite there being some challenges, thanks to the staff here, I have been able to overcome them.
As a sixth form student, I can confidently speak about my experience across the 5 years as a high school student and say that Wolverley was the right choice for me."
Giselle is a new Year 7 student that has recently started her Wolverley journey. Giselle has flourished in her first few weeks here and is looking forward to continuing to succeed. Read Giselle’s experience below.
"My name is Giselle, and I'm in Year 7. Just last year, I was in your position, feeling nervous and excited about starting high school. I was worried about a lot of things; finding my way around, making new friends , and handling the schoolwork. But I want to share with you today how much the school helped me with all of that.
I started to feel part of Wolverley when I came up for the transition days in the summer term. 3 days of lessons with my new year group and teachers. It really helped going into the summer holidays knowing what to expect in September.
On my first day, I felt a bit lost, but I wasn't alone. The teachers were really friendly and made sure I knew where to go. What really helped me settle in was the support from my tutors and teachers. They always had time for questions, even if they were about little things like where my next class was or how flipped learning works. Of course, the work can be challenging sometimes, but there's always someone to help. The teachers explain things clearly, and if you don't understand something, you just need to ask, and they'll be right there. The school has been a supportive place, and I've made new friends, learnt new things, and feel more confident than ever.
So, if you're feeling nervous, that's completely normal. I felt the same way, but I want you to know that Wolverley is a place where you'll have encouragement and support all the time. Whether it's finding your way around, making new friends, or getting help with schoolwork and flipped learning, there's always someone there for you.
Thank you for learning, and I hope to see you next year!"
