Department Vision
At Wolverley the Arts enable students to fulfil their ‘Ambition Unlimited’ through developing their self-esteem and respect for the contribution that they and others can make. We encourage a love for the arts through material that considers complex issues, thoughts, feelings and actions. We want students to use different forms of intelligence, recognising genius and learning from challenges in order to experience life in all its fullness. We develop pupils understanding of justice by ensuring that they have access to high quality materials. Through the Arts we give pupils the freedom to express their own belonging and understanding of the world and support them to become all that they can be.
Subject Information
Drama is so much more than role play and acting.
At Wolverley we have a well rounded curriculum to prepare students for life and the world of work by developing skills they will need in their daily lives.
Lessons include references to a wide range of curriculum areas such as Spanish, history, English and others helping students make links which supports their development and understanding.
We aim to create confident, well rounded young people through exploration and group work, and to support them to become adults with high self-esteem and a strong self belief to take into the world of work or further study.
Students leave Wolverley more prepared for interviews and are able to present themselves as capable characters in a competitive and challenging world.
