Head of College - Lea

Favourite subject at school

Definitely P.E., but I enjoyed most of my subjects at school, especially those that involved being outside, like geography and biology. My most unusual subject at GCSE was Latin, which I still use today when teaching A-level biology.

Hobbies

I am an avid sportswoman and have represented my county in several sports, including athletics and cricket. Currently, I play hockey and represent the Midlands for my age group. My family is very sporty as well, and when we're not playing or watching sports, we enjoy taking our dogs for long walks, going on bike rides, and playing board games. We also have a deep love for music, and there's always a lot of singing in our house.

About me

I live in Halesowen with my husband, our three sons, and our pets—two dogs and a cat. Coming from a family of teachers, with both my father and uncle involved in the education system, I am very proud of my mixed Jamaican/English heritage and cherish spending time with my family.

I have been teaching at Wolverley for 20 years and still remember the excitement of getting my first job here as an NQT! The amazing staff and students make this place feel like a second home, and I feel very privileged to be the Head of Lea College. I am passionate about inclusion and learning, having recently completed my second Master’s degree in Inclusive Educational Leadership.
